We are looking for a vibrant, creative individual that is searching for an exciting challenge in a brand-new role to support our Trust wide Digital Platform Project.

The Digital Content Officer position is an exciting opportunity to blend the creative flair of a wordsmith with the methodical approach of a digital designer. By exposing the successful candidate to a wide range of subjects and services we can offer an engaging and varied workload.

The Digital Platform Project is a pioneering initiative to co-produce, design and implement a state-of-the-art Digital Platform to completely reinvent our organisations presence in the digital arena.

Main duties of the job

Whether you're a talented writer or a calculated campaigner, this role will give you the opportunity to sharpen your skills in copywriting, content creation, co-design and project coordination.

Key Duties:

  • Provide content creation support with a big emphasis on digital copywriting and content design.
  • Collaborate with staff and service users build to positive relationships and using a consultative approach to extract key information.
  • Co-ordinate content work and contribute to wider digital platform objectives. Tracking progress including feedback and clinical sign off.
  • Actively participate in design and co-production sessions feeding into digital platform development throughout the life of the project.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Work closely with Communication colleagues, Improvement and Transformation colleagues, Service Leads for digital, Clinicians, Service Users and Co-production teams to create engaging website content. This will include designing of website copy, production of pages within the website content management system, utilising a range of interactive tools/widgets in the platform and designing an easy user journey.

Support the development of the Digital Platform. Work with Communications Team colleagues when designing new content, ensure information is accurate, quality assured and up to date - recognising these platforms as primary information sources for relevant audiences.

Identify opportunities for engaging video, animation and infographic content collaborating with communication colleagues to create scripts, key messages and design narratives.

Be an advocate to make digital accessible for all. Create copy and content in an accessible and clear way utilising best practice (WCAG and gov.uk designing content guidelines). Review, unify and redesign popular content from old websites. Follow the digital platform style guide, to ensure a consistent tone of voice and quality.

Ensure content, pages, materials and images have clear tags, descriptions, summaries alt text, links to other relevant content, keywords for SEO in the content management system.

Work with clinicians and service users to build positive relationships and using a consultative approach to extract key information, aims and themes to create copy and website content.

Support and co-ordinate of workshops/content generation sessions with staff and service users. Maintaining an effective feedback loop with co-creators through surveys, meetings, written feedback and calls.

Actively participate in UX/UI, feature and design sessions. Provide feedback to shape initial platform creation and further development throughout the life of the project.

Contribute to the wider digital platform project governance, taking on some project management and project support responsibilities for relevant work. Log and track progress of work in line with project requirements.

Work constructively with all members of the digital platform project team and communications team to ensure, as a team, we cover peaks and troughs in workload and maximise the potential of all our external and internal communications.

The post holder will have significant contact with a wide range of staff and partners, at all levels, in relation to content creation and Digital Platform Project objectives. This will require the post holder to understand and present complex and potentially sensitive information which will require persuasion and negotiation skills.

This post holder will therefore need to make decisions about how to present messages to internal and external audiences, and which communication tool to use to do this to best effect.

Key relationships will generally be with Communication colleagues, Improvement and Transformation colleagues, Service Leads for digital, Clinicians, Service Users and Co-production teams.

The post holder will handle, draft and interpret complex and sensitive information, liaising with senior staff/partners including making decisions about what the key messages are and how they are presented.
