Job summary

Are you interested in a career with a genuinely integrated care organisation? Do you want to be part of a new organisation that is developing pathways and services to transform the way that care is delivered locally? Are you interested in improving the health of our local population? If your answer is yes to any of these questions, then we are looking for you.

Dudley Integrated Health and Care NHS Trust (DIHC) is the first Integrated Care Provider in the country. It was launched in April 2020 following a period of development and integrates primary care with community services within the Dudley healthcare system. Our core aim is Dudley First, community where possible and hospital where necessary, and our purpose is to improve the health and wellbeing of our local population in Dudley.

High Oak Surgery serves a practice population of approximately 4000 patients, mainly within the Pensnett and Brierley Hill areas of the Dudley borough, and is currently located within Brierley Hill Health and Social Care Centre, a modern purpose built building. Chapel Street Surgery serves a list of around 2500 patients in the multi-ethnic community of Lye.

Both sites are traditional surgeries: friendly practices with great staff morale and a pleasant working environment. The workload is busy but manageable with structured admin time, limited extra patients and defined on call duties. We have very low home visit rates and minimal care home residents.

Main duties of the job

Salaried GP - applications considered for a number of GP's covering a variety of sessions

We are looking for a number of GP's to cover a variety of sessions. The candidates will be individuals that both love being a GP and want to provide excellent clinical care to their patients. Patients value our services very highly and it is our dream to build on these strong foundations and help secure a fair, equitable, inclusive and user friendly system. The challenges are plentiful that's why, whatever stage you're at in your GP career, we'll provide you with the high-quality support you need to continue developing your skills, spend quality time with your patients and make a real difference to people's lives whilst enjoying job satisfaction.

About us

We are looking for exceptional individuals with the drive and enthusiasm to change how healthcare is delivered and make a real difference to the people we serve.

DIHC is committed to embracing diversity and we recognise the need to ensure our workforce is representative of the communities we serve to enable us to achieve our purpose and commitments.

We recognise that we are under-represented in a number of areas, and therefore want to positively encourage applications from individuals from black, Asian or other ethnically diverse groups, people with disabilities and people from the LGBT community.

We are embedding values based and inclusive recruitment practices to ensure that all applicants, from any backgrounds, have an equal chance of success in achieving a role with us.

Anyone that works with us will share in our commitments and promote and uphold them throughout their daily activities.

Dudley Integrated Health and Care NHS Trust presents the unique opportunity to welcome staff into a new type of NHS Trust where they can work in partnership with others to create A Great Place to Work. For more information, please look at our website www.dihc.nhs.uk

At DIHC we will consider requests for flexible working where possible and dependent on the service needs. For most roles, the following types of flexibility are possible: flexible hours, working from home, compressed hours and more.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Please view the attached job description and person specification for more specific information about this post.

As a new forward thinking organisation we have developed a set of GP Salary scales that promote fairness and equity as well as providing a structured progression for our GPs.

We are an APMS practice serving about 4500 patients working from Brierley Hill in Dudley.

COVID-19 vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course our patients from the virus when working in our healthcare settings. Whilst COVID-19 vaccination is not a condition of employment at this time, we do encourage our staff to get vaccinated. We will be checking the vaccination status of all new starters so that we can manage individual and environmental risks, and so that we can support those who may be undecided about vaccination. If you are unvaccinated there is helpful advice and information at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/ where you can also find out more about how to access vaccinations.
