About Us

The North Warwickshire Early Intervention in psychosis Team work with people aged from 14-65 years who are either experiencing psychosis for the first time or at risk of developing psychosis.

Our Team covers the locality of North Warwickshire & Rugby, with our office base being in Nuneaton. We do have use of a clinic in Rugby for patients living there, but where possible you will see people at their home or in other community locations.

Main duties of the job

The Role

When people are experiencing psychosis for the first time it can have a detrimental impact on various aspects of their life, including their job/education, relationships, and daily functioning. Within your role you will be working alongside nurses, occupational therapists, and other disciplines to carry out goals as identified within the care plan to support people within their recovery to get back to good level of functioning and to live a good quality of life.

You will be delivering a range of time limited, evidence-based recovery focused interventions. As a successful candidate you will be given the opportunity to build your skills and confidence in working with individuals and within group settings in order to facilitate personal recovery, social inclusion and promote independence. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and communicating with a wide variety of clients; professionals; partners and agencies.

You must also have an UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle that you can use for work purposes.

These are the essential criteria and anyone who does not have these will not be shortlisted.

Its important you have strong communication skills, and you can work on your own initiative as well as collaboratively with colleagues. In addition to delivering practical interventions some knowledge and understanding of basic cognitive behavioural approaches would be beneficial, and the willingness and enthusiasm to learn new skills is vital. An ability to manage difficult or stressful situations is needed, but you will be supported throughout your time with the team, and we will invest time and energy in developing your support worker skills. Demonstrating personal resilience and a sense of humour is essential within our supportive and innovative team.
