Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Governance Manager to join our busy team. Working closely alongside the Trust Board Secretary, you will take the lead on managing the Board, its committees, and other key meetings to ensure formal and robust governance arrangements are followed.

As a part of this role, you will also fulfil and oversee some corporate functions on behalf of the Chief Executive and the Trust Board Secretary, including responsibility for the Annual Report and Code of Business Conduct, including managing the register of declarations.

To do this role, you will need to be organised and efficient as you will ensure effective support for board and board-level meetings and committees, including distributing papers, administrative support, arranging meetings, recording decisions in meetings, providing timely minutes and logging actions.

This would be a brilliant opportunity for someone who has a real interest in assurance processes and the role they play in facilitating robust decision-making. The role offers wonderful opportunities to develop withing a supportive team, with a chance to hone your skills at an advanced level.

  • Education to degree level
  • Good standard of general education - 5 GCSE's or equivalent including Mathematics and English

Knowledge

Essential

  • Articulate with excellent communication/ customer care skills both written and verbal demonstrating sympathy and compassion
  • Advanced keyboard/ IT skills
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritise own and other's workload and use own initiative
  • Ability to work autonomously, deal with queries independently and escalate where appropriate
  • Excellent organisation skills and ability to multitask
  • Good understanding of Corporate Governance and administration processes within the NHS
  • Ability to establish and maintain relevant recording and information systems

  • Experience of working with Trust Board members and very Senior Managers
  • Competent working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access)
  • Experience of working in a corporate environment
