Job summary

We're looking for an experienced General Manager to oversee operational service delivery and clinical leadership functions for RISE; Coventry and Warwickshire's specialist mental health service for children and young people.

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust has an ambition to be the lead provider for integrated children's services in Coventry and Warwickshire. As General Manager you will be a key member of the new integrated children's Directorate Senior Management Team and accountable to the Director of Integrated Children's Services.

Main duties of the job

We're looking for someone who will establish collaborative working relationships with colleagues, Service Users and Carers within the Trust and with external stakeholders such as Commissioners, Local Authorities, Primary Care and other stakeholders to meet the local and national targets for the services in their portfolio.

You will also work in partnership with a wide range of senior colleagues, including the Associate Director of Nursing, Safety and Quality Leads, Psychology and Professional Lead, Medical Leads, Clinical Leads and Business partners. You will be responsible for providing operational management leadership and contribute to strategic planning to ensure that the service area achieves its performance objectives.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Evidence of other specialist management training to post graduate level or equivalent experience.

Knowledge

  • Ability to make decisions autonomously.

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience of senior operational management at a senior level in the NHS or within an equivalent healthcare setting
  • Experienced in developing both internal and external strategic partner relationships and alliances in progressing organisation operational issue resolution.
  • Demonstrable experience across the health and care landscape and related policy development
  • Relevant experience of managing service development, stakeholder management; and partnership working at a senior level both internally and externally.
  • Significant senior management experience within a range of organisational settings
  • Demonstrable track record of identifying, developing, and achieving against cross organisational challenging cost efficiency targets.
  • Demonstrate a successful track record of delivering effective healthcare services as a senior manager in a large, multifaceted healthcare environment including staff management, financial management and change management.
  • Evidence of delivering successful strategic and operational performance management and clearly demonstrating improvement in the quality-of-service delivery at a strategic level; including business case preparation, service initiation, contract negotiation, and the development and monitoring of outcome and output measures
