Ashby House and The Lodge- Learning Disabilities (Adult Respite Service)

Nurse Associate

Ashby House is a Nurse led health-based respite unit for adults with a learning disability and a complex health need and/or complex behaviours. We operate on a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week basis.

We are a 7 bed unit which is purpose built to accommodate the needs of the individuals that attend the service, based in the Nuneaton countryside.

We also provide nursing support for our health based day service, The Lodge, which is situated on the same site.

The individuals that attend both services present with a wide range of cognitive and physical disabilities and require support with aspects of daily living- including social activities and managing health conditions. We strive as a service to promote independence and the rights of individuals and ensure that meeting an individual's needs is our main priority.

The successful applicant must have excellent communication skills and be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

Ashby house and The Lodge will support the successful applicants with training for all necessary clinical procedures.

The successful applicants are expected to be a car driver due to the location and needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

Whether you are a newly qualified Nurse Associate or an experienced clinician, we provide opportunities to develop your knowledge and skill base through preceptorship and CPD. We work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team and the successful candidate will be expected to work alongside the individual, their families and other professionals.e successful applicant must have excellent communication skills and be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

Ashby house and The Lodge will support the successful applicants with training for all necessary clinical procedures.

The successful applicants are expected to be a car driver due to the location and needs of the service.

Please note, as this service is open 24 hours a day, we will require you to work within a nursing rota including wake nights, early and late shifts, in the week and at weekends. We're pleased to offer enhancements for unsocial hours, nights, Bank holidays and weekends.
