Job summary

We are pleased to be able to recruit to a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to cover Maternity leave in the team. This could be on a *Secondment or Fixed-term contract basis (*see attached form).

Main duties of the job
The Intensive Support Team is a functionalised multi-disciplinary team who interface with the core Community Learning Disability service delivery. In addition to the satisfaction of working in a progressive and dynamic service, this would be an excellent career development opportunity.
Appropriate training will be provided to ensure that we are supporting people who have a learning disability and whose behaviour challenges, to remain at home and avoid inappropriate hospital admissions. The team also supports the discharge of people in hospital and work with people to develop and maintain relationships and get the support they need to live healthy, safe and rewarding lives in their community.
The successful applicant will have post registration experience, ideally with some community and inpatient experience. You will be able to deliver a high standard of evidence based individual care, have excellent interpersonal skills to enable you to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the service around client care plans.
The successful applicant will receive regular clinical supervision from the Lead Occupational Therapist. Peer supervision and CPD workshops also support this role. In addition, in house learning opportunities and further training and development are available to further enhance knowledge, skills and confidence in working with this client group.
