Job summary

Specialist Forensic Nurse - FACTT: Autism Band 7, 30 hours per week Forensic Assessment, Consultation, Training and Treatment (FACTT) Service

We are looking to recruit an experienced Learning Disability Nurse or Mental Health Nurse to a newly developed post in the Forensic Assessment, Consultation, Training and Treatment (FACTT) Service which is a Community Forensic Service for Autistic people and/or people who have a learning disability. In 2018 the FACTT Service was commissioned for individuals with a learning disability.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will take a deputy lead role within the FACTT service, reporting to the clinical lead. They will clinically lead and operationally manage the qualified and non-qualified nursing staff and associated processes within the FACTT service.

He/she will also be responsible for effectively overseeing and deploying the qualified and nonqualified nursing staff and physical resources to ensure the teams meet their contractual obligations.

He/she will take a lead, alongside relevant others, in developing systems and processes in both inpatient and community settings required to ensure effective outcomes for service users and the teams themselves.

He/she will provide specialist nursing assessments and interventions, provide specialist consultation and training to staff from a range of agencies.

He/she will manage referrals and assist with the development of the service.
