Are you looking foran assistant psychology post that will provide you with new opportunities and experience?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit to permanent full-time experienced Assistant Psychologists to support the partnership and collaboration of primary and secondary mental health care across Coventry and Warwickshire. There will be the opportunity to work within a designated PCN across our Coventry locality.

We recognise that placing specialist mental health staff in GP practices and promoting early assessment, treatment and interventions in a recovery focused way will help people with mental health problems achieve the best possible outcomes.

The NHS Long term Plan Community mental health transformation is a national movement supported by NHS England, with a huge amount of investment at a local level to improve the delivery of mental health care in local communities. The transformation project across Coventry and Warwickshire brings together health, social care, voluntary and community sector organisations and our strategy is coproduced between experts by experience and experts by training.

Main duties of the job

Our Assistant Psychologists will provide psychological interventions to a wide range of adults presenting within primary care with mental health needs. You will be part of a mental health approach which will be multiagency, ensuring the wider determinants of mental health are considered as part of the service users' formulation. You will offer psychological assessment, formulation, and brief therapeutic intervention, using evidence-based programmes that may be individual or group based under the supervision of an experienced qualified clinical psychologist.

You will receive regular supervision from an experienced clinical psychologist and will be line managed by an experienced senior healthcare professional.
