Job summary
Band 8c Clinical/Forensic Psychologist - 0.8wte - Community Recovery Teams - Swanswell Point, Coventry.
We are utilising Community Mental Health Transformation funding to develop a new forensic community mental health team.
We are looking for a forensic Psychologist who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of people experiencing psychosis, but who also present with risk and behaviours that bring them in to the forensic arena. Your specialist knowledge, experience and skills are very much needed. You will form part of a multi-agency multidisciplinary team to include Nursing, Social Work, OT, support work, and Psychiatry (This list is not exhaustive)
This is a truly exciting time in which the Community Mental Health Transformation Programme will change what we do and how we deliver community mental health services.

Main duties of the job
This post is a key part of the early development of our own Community Mental Health Forensic Team. The team will provide specialist interventions, including case management, specialist assessment, advice and liaison across Coventry and Warwickshire.
You will work closely with senior managers and colleagues to develop the service. You will help develop treatment pathways, processes and structures as well as building effective multiagency links. You will also undertake direct clinical work. You will be encouraged to forge close links with forensic colleagues in the Forensic Assessment Consultation, Training and Treatment team in the Learning Disability and Autism Directorate to enable you to be supported in your role.
As a Consultant Clinical/Forensic Psychologist, you will join operational managers and professional leads in delivering leadership in psychology, as well as contributing to the Trust-wide development of community forensic provision. You will work principally with people with complex difficulties who present risk and their families, delivering recovery and offence / risk focussed interventions in the community. As part of the Psychology team, you will be expected to support the training and development of clinical psychology trainees, clinical associates in psychology and other practitioners. Research is valued, and we are a trial site in two large multi-centre research trials for psychological interventions in psychosis.
