Full time, permanent role (part-time hours considered)

We have a vacancy that has arisen in our Inpatient Physical Complexity Service for a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager with an RNMH / RNLD qualification. The successful applicant will be based on the male/female physical complexity ward

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about working with people with mental health and their families / carers; organised; patient centred and has strong leadership skills and excellent team working ability. Candidates should be able to demonstrate they have extensive experience of working with Mental Health services and at least 1 year RMN experience.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide strong clinical and operational leadership to their team on a day to day basis, provide their team of staff with monthly supervision and support in patient flow and ensuring timely appropriate discharges from the ward.

The service received an overall rating of Good by the CQC and an Outstanding for care and compassion of which we are rightly proud. We have also been recognised both locally and nationally by receiving awards for the services we provide. The ward is also accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Services are provided to a population of over one million people living in Coventry and Warwickshire and also a wider geographical area in some of our specialist services, we see on average around 5,000 patients every day.

The post holder will be responsible for assisting the Ward Manager in all duties relating to the overall continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of plans of care and the setting of standards of care. You will also support the ward manager in managing HR and staffing issues, rostering and appraisals.
