Specialist Paediatric Respiratory Physiotherapist- Full time (37.5 hours)

We are excited to advertise this role due to investment in our community paediatric respiratory service which supports our Coventry population from 0-19. This includes supporting our long term ventilated, palliative care, neuromuscular, neurodisability and complex children in the community.
This role currently excludes those who have asthma and Cystic Fibrosis
Main duties of the job
- To carry out clinical assessment of children and young people's needs and to plan and implement complex respiratory physiotherapy packages accordingly.
- Provide highly specialist advice and support to less experienced Physiotherapists in respiratory care.
- To work in close liaison with respiratory MDT Teams within the acute sector, to promote enhanced shared care and transition between acute and community provision
- To use advanced clinical reasoning, critical thinking, reflection and analysis to support assessments and management. To work closely with other members of the MDT within health, education, social services and voluntary sector to ensure treatment meets the holistic needs of the child.
- To supervise, teach, manage and develop physiotherapy colleagues, students, physiotherapy assistants, nursing colleagues, parents/carers and teachers within the area of expertise, using Evidence Based Practice where possible.
- To be a source of advice and support to children and their families about respiratory therapy and treatments.
- To represent the respiratory physiotherapy service at relevant regional and national meetings where necessary.
