Specialist Occupational Therapist - Band 6

37.5 hours per week, but part time hours will be considered

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to be part of a friendly, expanding and dynamic multi-disciplinary team -working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders including Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Conditions, ADHD, Sensory processing difficulties and Dyspraxia?

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist with particular interest in this clinical area to be a part of a developing service for adults referred by their GP's. The service is an extension of the established and successful Children and Young People's Neurodevelopmental Service, recently rated by the CQC overall as 'Good' and 'Outstanding' for being caring. The neurodevelopmental service has an emphasis on interdisciplinary working to provide a thorough assessment with focus on post-diagnostic support and intervention. The team includes Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Psychiatry, Occupational Therapy and Support Staff.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with experience in assessment and interventions for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders. As the successful post holder you will provide highly specialist evidence- based assessment of the individual's occupational profile and the impact of any, social, emotional, physical, psychological and/or sensory needs. You will contribute to the diagnostic process and also provide specialist interventions, including education, group sessions and individual therapy.

There is considerable emphasis on liaison with external services, including Local Authority/Mental Health Services, and the voluntary sector.

You will receive regular professional clinical supervision and you will therefore be professionally linked to other Occupational Therapist and Speech and Language Therapists. Our services hold regular CPD training events and encourage case sharing and discussion. Your CPD in line with service needs will be actively encouraged, in addition to opportunities for training student as the new service becomes established.

The service received an overall rating of Good by the CQC and an Outstanding for care and compassion of which we are rightly proud. We have also been recognised both locally and nationally by receiving awards for the services we provide.
