Pre School Neurodevelopmental Speech & Language Therapist - Band 6

22.5 hours per week, permanent post

The Neurodevelopmental Service has recently been awarded a CQC overall rating of 'good', they are engaged in innovation and research, have a highly skilled and experienced multi-disciplinary team who last year won a trust award for 'Seeking Excellence'. We have a strong commitment to clinical supervision and Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and offer a supportive and proactive environment. The neurodevelopmental team includes Psychology, Paediatrics, Speech and language Therapy, Psychiatry, Nursery Nursing and Occupational Therapy.

The service is seeking a motivated speech and language therapist with a keen interest and experience in working with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Developmental Dyspraxia and Tourette's and their families. The main responsibility of this post will be to provide assessment of a child's language and social communication within their home and/or education setting as part of their diagnostic assessment. The case load will be predominantly pre-school age children and will include working with parents within their home and in group settings. In addition there will be some work with school age children; this will include group or individual work as part of their intervention.

  • RCSLT registered
  • HCPC registered

Knowledge and skills

Essential

  • Ability to practice independently within clinical area.
  • Proven knowledge and skills relevant to children's SLT
  • Ability to provide specialist clinical advice on an individual case basis.

  • SLT clinical experience of working with children with a variety of clinical needs
  • Experience in the development and delivery of training.
