Occupational Therapist - Band 6, 37.5 and 22.5 hours per week. Community Mental Health & Wellbeing Team - Coventry
Coventry Integrated Practice Unit, PU 3-8, Community Mental health & Wellbeing Team is part of a multi-disciplinary, mental health and wellbeing service. IPU's are arranged around individual needs based on care clusters. This post sit within the Non-Psychosis, clusters 3-8 pathway. This includes people with emotion regulation difficulties, mood disorders and anxiety.
The Team covers the locality Coventry and is based at Tile Hill Health Centre. The Team is supportive and highly skilled and adapts to the changing needs of the people who access the service.
Main duties of the job
The Role
We are looking to recruit an Occupational Therapist who has significant experience and knowledge of delivering Occupational Therapy assessment and interventions in Community Mental Health. This role will enable the successful candidate to use their profession specific skills to implement, embed and deliver Occupational Therapy and care coordination as part of the MDT. You will be part of the duty system within the team and undertake trusted assessment and supervision.
Working within an established team, you will be managing a caseload of people who have complex mental health problems and delivering a range of evidence-based interventions. As a successful candidate you will be confident, innovative and an effective communicator. You will be communicating with a wide variety of people; professionals; partners and agencies.

Experience of assessing and working with people with complex and significant mental health problems is essential. This as an ideal opportunity to further develop specialist skills and interests. It is important you have strong communication skills and you can work on your own initiative as well as collaboratively with colleagues. A willingness and enthusiasm to learn new skills and develop your practice is vital. This team provides interventions on a one to one basis but also in group formats. There are tight deadlines, and you will be often under pressure, but you will be supported throughout your time with the team and we will invest time and energy in developing you as a clinician. You will have to make difficult decisions but having a supportive and experienced team alongside you helps with that process. We have a very clear preceptorship programme for appointed staff and work very hard at developing and supporting staff in what can be a challenging environment.
