Advanced Clinical Practitioner Occupational Therapy - Band 8a
This is an exciting opportunity for highly experienced Occupational Therapists to work within a dedicated, mental health, community enablement pathway, whilst supporting the current Transformation programme across secondary mental health care services within Coventry and Warwickshire, following substantial new investment.
This opportunity will utilise the specialism of Occupational Therapy to work within a rehabilitative framework of empowering and enabling, whilst maximising independence and adhering to a recovery focused outcome whether this be employment, training or sustained meaningful activity and routine.
We are as excited by this service development and the opportunity it provides to improve patient care, reduce the need for inpatient treatment and contribute to the development of innovative interventions. The expansion of services will provide clinicians with an opportunity to shape its development and evaluate new ways of working in the field; part of a well-established but expanding multidisciplinary team.

The ACP role constitutes a level of practice characterised by a high degree of autonomy and complex decision making across an expanded scope of practice. This will incorporate a 50% clinical caseload and 50% leadership role. The successful applicant will be required to highly deliver specialist, Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions with service users who have multifaceted complex occupational, psychological, and physical health needs
The post holder will be expected to support and promote a set of values that maximise the potential of individuals by promoting their recovery with the aim of reducing social exclusion, stigma and the potentially disabling effects of severe mental illness.
The post holders will offer a range of, outcome focussed, specialist Occupational Therapy interventions which will encourage positive risk taking and require working creatively, whilst providing recovery focussed care planning, achieving person centred recovery outcomes. In addition, the ACP role will provide the post holder will the opportunity to contribute to Regional and National work-streams, policy and practice development related to their work.
