Health Care Assistant Band 3 - Bramcote, Nuneaton

Full time and part time hours available

The post holder will be required to deliver needs led flexible day service in the local community supporting a service users with a learning disability, autism, behavioural difficulties and additional health needs.

The Lodge provides day service opportunities for adults with a learning disability and complex health needs.

Main duties of the job

To provide care and support to adults with a learning disability with complex care needs.

The aim is to deliver a quality service to each service user through activities that enable service users to grow and develop. This will be carried out using meaningful and valued work, educational facilities, therapeutic goals and a wide range of leisure activities in the local community.

The post holder will be required to participate in assessment, training, instruction and evaluation and will be responsible for carry out and facilitating service users individual plans, to develop a professional service which fulfils overall day service aims.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Have already achieved NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or will achieve it within an agreed period.

Knowledge and skills

Essential

  • Pass Basic Skills test Assessments to Level 1 Standard (test to be Undertaken as short-listing exercise prior to interview)
  • Willing to undertake and complete the NHS Care Certificate
  • Willing to undertake training to administer medication
  • Willing to attend staff development programmes, workshops, Training courses as required.
  • Willing and able to undertake the role of Key Worker (where appropriate).
  • Willing and able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Understands age appropriate activities and able to engage clients in such activities
  • Willing and able to make appropriate written records within the service.
  • Willing and able to respond appropriately to unexpected events and emergencies
  • Understands the meaning of confidentiality.
