Acting Deputy Ward Manager Post - Band 6
Acute Inpatient Services - Swanswell Ward, Caludon Centre
37.5hours per week (part time and flexible working negotiable)
Temporary/ Acting up (up to 6 months) Secondment Application form attached if required
We have an acting post that has arisen within Acute Inpatient Services for an Acting Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager with an RMN/RNLD qualification. The successful applicants will be based within The Caludon Centre site.

This post is based on one of the Female Treatment Wards with the Acute Female Treatment Pathway.
We are seeking, motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are organised; client centred and have strong leadership skills and excellent team working ability. Candidates should be able to demonstrate they have extensive experience of working in Mental Health Nursing.

- Immediate Life Support Training
- Management of Actual and Potential Aggression (MAPA) Training
Knowledge and skills

- Good verbal and written communication
- Understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983
- Able to manage resources effectively
- Able to record information accurately and write reports.
Experience
Essential
- Substantial post registration experience
- Recent experience working and managing within an inpatient setting
- Experience in managing and leading a team of staff in a clinical setting
- Experience of working as a member of a multi disciplinary team
- Involvement in clinical supervision as a supervisor
- Involvement in employee development reviews / appraisals
- Experience of applying principles of: Equal opportunities, Mental Health Act 1983, UKCC Code of Professional Conduct, Care Programme Approach, Recent government legislation, Developments in nursing practice, Quality in relation to nursing practice, Reflection practice, Change management, Workforce planning
