Advanced Occupational Therapist (Band 7) -FACTT Service

We are looking to recruit an innovative, enthusiastic and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Forensic Assessment Consultation, Training and Treatment team (FACTT) which covers the area of Coventry and Warwickshire.
FACTT is a community forensic support service which was originally commissioned in 2018 as part of the Transforming Care Agenda. for adults with a learning disability (LD) to support timely discharge from hospital and prevent unnecessary admission to hospital or prison. In an exciting development, the FACTT team is currently being expanded to include autistic individuals who have forensic needs across Coventry and Warwickshire. This is one of the posts being recruited into as part of this exciting expansion. Based on the core functions of the national specification for community forensic LD and autism services, the community forensic service provides:
- Forensic in-reach support to inpatient services to support safe and timely discharges
- Assessment and management of forensic risk in the community to ensure public safety and safety of the individual
- Consultancy and support
- Training and advice to other agencies
- Treatment: Delivery of offence specific therapeutic interventions

This is an exciting new post; offering the right candidate the opportunity to take a lead role in Occupational Therapy provision within the FACTT team. The successful applicant will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, which includes psychology, nursing, speech and language therapy, social work and psychiatry. The post holder will be professionally managed and supervised by the AHP lead within the LD & A directorate but will receive clinical support and supervision from the FACTT team.

- Relevant masters level degree (or equivalent KTE gained through experience)
- Registered Occupational Therapist with the Health & Care Professions Council
- Documented evidence of CPD in the specialist clinical area.
- Post Graduate training related to the specialist clinical area.
Knowledge and skills
Essential
- Evidence of clinical assessment skills with reference to Autism and Learning Disability
- Ability to use specific Occupational Therapy standardised assessments, outcome measurements e.g., Assessment of Motor and Process Skills, sensory processing, Model of Human Occupation Screening Tool.
- Ability to demonstrate written skills that are relevant, accurate, concise and legible.
- Evidence of time and resource management skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying approach, according to need / situations.
- Ability to demonstrate sound knowledge and application of the College of Occupational Therapy Code of Professional Conduct.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of current legislative changes affecting the NHS especially those relevant to Occupational Therapy and Learning Disabilities.
