Research Assistant - Band 5

0.5 WTE, 12 month fixed term contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Assistant (RA) to take the lead role in running the AUTism DEPression Trial - 2: A multicentred randomised controlled trial of guided self-help versus treatment as usual for depression for autistic adults (ADEPT-2) at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust.

The postholder will take the lead role in the running of the study within Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership trust (CWPT). The aim of the ADEPT-2 trial is to establish the clinical and cost effectiveness of an adapted low-intensity psychological intervention (guided self-help) for depression in autistic adults. The overall sample size is 248 participants recruited in the West Midlands, and the northeast and west of England.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Educated to 2/1 or above degree level in health related subject (e.g. psychology, health sciences or similar)

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Essential

  • Ability to write clear and concise reports
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A sound knowledge of the research governance process (e.g. Good Clinical Practice certificate).

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Research experience in mental health or health
  • Experience of administrative work including data management
  • Experience of taking assessments, facilitating focus groups, conducting interviews
  • Experience of extracting and coding data from clinical case notes

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

Essential

  • Numerate and literate with good IT skills competent in standard PC packages, including SPSS

OTHER

Essential

  • Must have independent means of transportation and be able to travel to different sites around the Trust
