An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Sustainability to join Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust. The rapidly evolving NHS Trust is looking for an individual who has the experience and passion to lead the implementation of an ambitious, evidence led Green Plan (which includes carbon reduction, environmental and social change aspects), and engage our people in a collaborative effort to put sustainability, environmental and social responsibility right at the heart of everything we do. The successful candidate will be as knowledgeable as they are enthusiastic and energised by all things sustainable.

Specifically, the postholder will:
- Provide senior level expertise for Sustainability matters across the Trust, supporting the Clinical Management groups and Corporate Directorates to ensure Sustainability considerations underpin the Trust's delivery of services.
- Advise and provide subject matter expertise for the Trust Executive Team, Board of Directors, and other Trust leaders of all levels, on Sustainability related matters.
- Ensure that the Sustainability management and governance frameworks are fit for purpose and effectively support the Trust to meet its obligations and reporting requirements.
- Develop key alliances and positively engage with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure all are fully involved in improving the sustainability footprint of the Trust and wider health community.

The postholder will work across the Trust and lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Green Plan, which underpins the delivery of the Trust's sustainability agenda. They will be the Trust-wide lead and provide expert knowledge on all aspects of environmental sustainability, and will champion effective and proportionate management of sustainability and act as an expert adviser to the leadership team, management and staff.
The service received an overall rating of Good by the CQC and an Outstanding for care and compassion of which we are rightly proud. We have also been recognised both locally and nationally by receiving awards for the services we provide.
Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust provides a full range of expanding physical, mental health and learning disability services to children, young adults, adults and older adults over many sites across Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull.
Services are provided to a population of over one million people living in Coventry and Warwickshire and also a wider geographical area in some of our specialist services, we see on average around 5,000 patients every day.

The postholder will be educated to Masters degree level in an environmental or sustainability-related subject, or must be able to demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge gained through experience. They will have knowledge of delivering a Net Zero NHS and other policies around sustainability, have demonstrable leadership skills and highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and be able to motivate others. In addition to experience, boundless and contagious enthusiasm and energy is an absolute must.
The postholder will have demonstrable experience of having led sustainability programmes and of producing a green plan or sustainable development management plan, experience in the direct delivery of sustainable healthcare services involving implementation of lower carbon care pathways and have excellent knowledge of energy, waste, procurement & environmental legislation.
