An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinical psychologist to lead the psychology provision for a newly developing Primary Care based, intervention service. Clinicians in the service will offer rapid access assessment and short-term psychological interventions to patients presenting with a range of mental health needs in primary care. The post holder will be taking a leading role in shaping and developing the psychological models and provision of interventions across the Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and community mental health secondary care neighbourhood teams across Coventry and Warwickshire
Main duties of the job
They will also be responsible for the supervision of assistant psychologists and newly appointed Clinical Associated Psychologists, supporting them through their training programme and beyond. The post holder will communicate on a strategic level with GP and primary care network leads, social care, voluntary sector partners and the wider secondary mental health services. The primary care teams will consist of a mix of assistant psychologists or mental health and wellbeing practitioners, band 6 nursing/ core professional roles, band 7 team manager for each 'place' and a service manager. The role is being funded by secondary mental health and the post holder will have access to supervision from a consultant clinical psychologist from secondary care, line management from a senior nursing colleague and be offered training and CPD opportunities within the mental health trust. We also have funded places on a number of HEE courses that would be relevant to this role and would support attendance in a therapy modality as required.

The post holder will be employed by the mental health directorate of CWPT. There will be support, supervision and opportunities to integrate into the wider mental health service. You will be joining a thriving community of clinical and counselling psychologists, psychological therapists and psychotherapists as well as brilliant and supportive colleagues from the wider MDT.
