Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust seek to appoint a Consultant Psychiatrist in Eating Disorders, to join the well-established team at the Aspen Centre in Warwick.

The post is for a Consultant Psychiatrist in Eating Disorders. The successful applicant will work primarily in outpatient service alongside another 0.6wte outpatient Consultant and a full-time consultant who works in both inpatient and outpatient services. The successful applicant will carry a small inpatient caseload (normally 5 beds) and will share inpatient responsibility.

This is a replacement post. The post holder will participate in providing postgraduate training to the Coventry and Warwickshire Junior Doctor Training Scheme and undergraduate education for medical students from Warwick and Buckingham Medical Schools.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will provide consultation and advice to colleagues in primary and secondary care on the management of patients with eating disorders and take part in assessments under the Mental Health Act where appropriate. The postholder will liaise with primary care, acute hospitals, crisis and home treatment teams and community mental health teams.

The post is based upon 6 programmed activities (PAs) a week, 4.5 for DCC and 1.5 for Supporting Professional Activities (SPA).

Additional programmed Activities may be negotiated for additional workload or responsibility as required through the job planning process in accordance with the consultant terms and conditions.

This post requires participation in the consultant on call rota for general psychiatry with a frequency of less than one in ten with responsibility for both inpatients and community patients. It will attract a low frequency high intensity additional payment of 3%. The consultant on call will be supported by junior doctors and speciality grade doctors as appropriate depending on the locality.
