Psychological Therapist for Community Mental Health & Wellbeing Service - Band 7
Full time (part time considered), permanent role
We are excited to offer the opportunity to join an innovative, supportive and well-established multidisciplinary team working with adults, aged 17 years and over with histories of complex trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder, chronic anxiety and depression, complex obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, psychoses and attachment difficulties. The psychology team is embedded within a community mental health team that values psychological therapy, formulation and psychologically-informed interventions. This enables us to work safely and creatively with service users who have long-standing and complex needs, either in face-to-face therapy or indirectly alongside our team colleagues.

We are looking for a psychological therapist or CBT Therapist who can provide evidence based therapies for individuals with complex mental health presentations which include a history of trauma. They would also need to be passionate about improving mental health and alleviating suffering, and who can complement or enhance our caring and dedicated team. Therefore we would welcome applications from those who are trained in EMDR therapy and are accredited or working towards accreditation, as you will be supported by the EMDR consultant in the team. Skills in working within models of compassionate focused therapy would also be advantageous.
Within our psychology team we currently offer compassion focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing, schema therapy, psychodynamic and relational therapies. Formal and informal supervision from a variety of therapeutic orientations is available.

In addition, our multidisciplinary team is invested in improving psychological thinking within and outside of our Service, so working well within a team setting is essential, alongside enthusiasm for providing informal and formal supervision, consultation, teaching and contributing to Service and policy development.
Our goal is never to feel as if we are working in isolation, and we have accessible and reflective team managers, medics and other colleagues. You will also be part of weekly psychology meetings where we provide peer supervision and discuss clinical and Service.
The service received an overall rating of Good by the CQC and an Outstanding for care and compassion of which we are rightly proud. We have also been recognised both locally and nationally by receiving awards for the services we provide.

- Undergraduate degree /Relevant Professional Qualification i.e RMN
- Current registration with Professional Body appropriate to qualifications
- Specialist Therapy Qualification, as appropriate to the role
- Relevant further training and experience including specialist short courses which are relevant to a secondary care team e.g. Complex Trauma, Personality disorders, CFT, ACT, BDD to masters or equivalent level
- Evidence of continuing professional development and other CPD relevant to the client group
- Experience working with people with clients with anxiety disorders, depression and personality disorders and demonstrating the competences as required.
