The
maternity team at the University Hospital of North Durham site are searching
for committed, dynamic and enthusiastic midwives to join our team working on
our maternity unit. We want you to be here, helping to shape our vision for an
outstanding service that gives women, families, our communities and our
midwives an extraordinary experience.
Main duties of the job
There is significant emphasis on multi-disciplinary working
and the ability to work as an individual as well as a team member is essential.
You will be responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of
individualised care plans which ensure delivery of holistic, research based
care, prioritising communication, informed consent and relationship building.
You will work closely with our multi-disciplinary team of professionals.
Some of your duties will be:
Assessing and advising on the needs of women, birthing
people, partners, families, and carers and providing emotional support during
all stages of pregnancy and postnatal care. Planning, delivering and evaluating standards
of evidence-based midwifery care
Identifying and caring for women with more complex
pregnancies
Providing interventions and key messages around Public
Health including infant feeding
Recognising deterioration in the in the physical
or mental condition of a patient and taking appropriate action/ escalation and
managing emergencies
