An exciting opportunity has arisen for confident,
enthusiastic and highly motivated Healthcare Assistant to work in Acute
Cardiology at Darlington Memorial Hospital.
We are a 26 bedded ward encompassing an 8 Acute Cardiology
beds and 18 Cardiology medical beds. We are a strong, dynamic, enthusiastic and
friendly team looking for individuals who share our enthusiasm in providing a
high standard of care to our patients. We support our staff to undertake job
relevant training.
This position offers
development of skills and provides education and support for the successful
candidate. You will need to be highly motivated and have the ability to work autonomously
and as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
Assist in
admitting patients to the ward, completing demographic details and recording
base-line observations.
Provide care
to patients following instructions in the care plan, programme or pathway.
Demonstrate
competence in the accurate recording of routine clinical observations.
Recognise
abnormal recordings or signs of change in a patients condition and report
changes to a registered nurse.
Assist
patients meet their personal care needs (includes hygiene, mobility,
nutrition, elimination and comfort).
Assist
patients to eat and drink in a sensitive and supportive manner.
Accurately
record information on patient food charts and fluid balance charts, reporting
concerns to a registered nurse.
Assist
clinical team with data entry, filing and maintaining accurate documentation
of care.
Assist in
escorting, transferring and discharging patients, ensuring all property is
packed and the bed area is prepared for the next patient.
Ensure
treatment rooms and ward areas are adequately stocked and tidy.
Assist in
resolving conflict by responding to concerns and complaints in a positive
manner.

Provide
