Main duties of the job
As a Paediatric Staff Nurse, you will provide high-quality,
compassionate, family-centred care to infants, children and young people across
a range of acute and specialist services. You will assess, plan, implement and
evaluate evidence-based nursing care, working closely with the
multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective treatment. You will
administer medications, monitor patients' conditions, recognise and escalate
deterioration, and support children and their families throughout their hospital
journey. You will maintain accurate clinical records, contribute to
safeguarding and infection prevention practices, participate in health
promotion, and support service improvement initiatives. You will also supervise
and mentor students and junior staff where appropriate, ensuring care is
delivered in line with Trust policies, professional standards and the Nursing
and Midwifery Council Code.
