Job summary

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust Paediatric Bladder and Bowel service provides tier 2 commissioned specialist nursing support for children and families facing challenges in the development of childhood continence.

The Band 7 role provides expert leadership of the nursing team whilst also providing direct clinical case load management of children and young people referred into the service.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will manage a clinical case load of patients providing specialist advice and develop strategies with families to support continence and bladder and / or bowel management,. The specialist nurse will monitor outcomes and continue support or refer / discharge patient maintaining appropriate records to evidence care and outcomes.

The nurse will be the lead specialist in the Bladder and Bowel Service directly managing the registered nursing and play specialist team, operating within the guidance provided within the CDDFT managers toolkit . They will support specialist education and training to other staff, students and/or patients and lead clinical audit and quality improvement in the Bladder and Bowel Service
