Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an experienced and motivated individual in the post of Service Manager for a period of 6 months on a secondment basis.

The successful candidate will manage and develop the trust datacentres and server estate to deliver a robust server system environment ensuring business and clinical systems run without issue.

You will be part of a large and experienced Health Informatics Department which has a record of implementing new and exciting technologies to support the delivery of business and clinical services.

You will be highly experienced in managing the delivery of ICT and 3rd line server support to a large and diverse user base, both user facing and back end infrastructure.

Reporting to the ICT Infrastructure Services Manager you will have management responsibility for the team of Server Specialists together with development and provision of server infrastructure and datacentres across the Trust.

This post has a requirement to perform on call as part of a rota.

Main duties of the job

Manage the entire Trust server estate ensure proper maintenance and functioning of the Trust network infrastructure.

Keep abreast of changing technology, identify server specific hardware/software required by the Trust.

Provide ICT support subject to standard policies and procedures.

Follow ICT ITIL compliance.

Develop, implement and manage complex IT Systems and Services used by approximately 8500 staff across the Trust

Management of computer room and data centre facilities

To ensure that the Trust server estate is maintained to the highest levels and standards and to keep abreast of emerging technology, threats and security requirements, taking appropriate action.

Development of Service Level Agreements for the provision of IT services with 3rd Party and other NHS organisations

To monitor and advise on live security exceptions.

Produce reports on all aspects of Trusts server performance, security incidents and management.

Participate in Trust wide IT on-call
