Job summary
This
is a dynamic, clinical and leadership role working within a well-established
community services overnight service. No two shifts will be the same and you
will predominantly be working within the remit of Urgent Community Response
(UCR). This role will require flexibility and cover the entire CDDFT locality,
attending to patients who are in need of community services overnight. This
means tending to some of the most vulnerable patients, such as those at the end
of their lives. There is a requirement within the post to work some occasional
day time shifts which will be negotiated in advance of shift planning. This is
a clinical role with management and leadership responsibilities. Due to the
working hours, there will be a requirement to work during core hours in order
to attend meetings etc and ensure the overnight team is kept up to date with
changes and developing practices.
Main duties of the job
The
successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership and management of
the community services countywide overnight service. This includes the patients
and the staff who are currently part of this team. You will be expected to work
dynamically and possess the ability to 'think on your feet' - making risk
assessed decisions to support patients across CCDFT. You should be confident,
resilient and flexible. You will be expected to carry out one to one's,
appraisals, ensure training is up to date and spot potential in developing the
service to meet the changing needs of our patients. This role can be fast paces
and challenging, there is no planned workload throughout the shift. The
Overnight service is a full Urgent Community Response (UCR) model and acts on
those calls coming into the service via our Single Point of Access (SPA) team
whom you will also work closely with. We are looking for someone with
significant experience of running a very busy and dynamic team within health
care services and the successful candidate should possess excellent
organisational and clinical skills
