Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP) Manager

Job summary

To play a pivotal role in the day to day operational management of the Bowel Cancer Screening Programmes. To co-ordinate a programme of research and audit, suppporting the Lead SSP to deliver research findings and publications. Directly line mange the screening centre administrative team, managing screening appointments in line with national criteria. Will address Health Inequalities.

Support the Lead SSP and SSP team in the co-ordination and delivery of health promotion activities to improve access to screening across all section of society. To ensure and manage training and professional development of the team. To promote effective data management as per national requirements in line with data protation regulations. Ultimately to be a role model and demonstrate a consistant leadership style which engages, enables and empowers others via coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and facilitate team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisation boundaires.

Main duties of the job

You will co-ordinate and manage screening list activity across CDDFT to ensure effective administrative planning and co-ordination of the Bowel Cancer Screeing Programme and will be responsible for the delivery of the programme to meet national standards in liaison with the Clinical Director and Lead Screening Practitioner. To work alonside the Lead SSP in developing stategies for improved communication, awareness and health promotion events to the screening centre's eligible population especially those wihin minority groups. You will respond to complaints, providing and receiving complex, sensative or contentious inormation where persuassive, negotiation, empathetic or re-assurance skills may be required.

To assist the Operational Service Manager in making departmental decisions based on progessional judgement, experience and knowledge of the Bowel Cancer Screening Programmes, Seeking the clinical expertise of the Lead SSP, who will lead on all BCSP clinical advise, in conjunction with the Clinicall Lead.

- To co-ordinate and manage screening list activity across CDDFT liaising with the HUB and Public Health England.

- To keep the clinical director and OSM informed of activity and performance of the screening programme, identifying and difficulties arising and recommending on their solution.

- To maintain effective communication within the BCSP services and develop good professional relationships within the profession and other disciplines at all levels.

- Establish effective links with MDT's, to ensure there is timely presentation of appropriate reports and KPI's.
