This advert is only open to applicants who are currently

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will be experienced in the
management of patients at CDDFT with Acute Kidney Injury supporting prompt
recognition and treatment to prevent life threatening complications, expedite
discharge and ensure appropriate follow up.
They will use expert knowledge and advanced
clinical reasoning skills to provide a specialist support and advice to the
Clinical teams for patients at risk of, or a confirmed AKI.
Main duties of the job
- Working in conjunction with the parent team, the ANP will
assess, diagnose, treat and discharge adult patients ensuring appropriate
advice, health education and referral to appropriate services.
- To perform autonomous diagnostic and prognostic
investigations such as renal uss or further imaging.
- To make autonomous decisions regarding referring patients
for renal consultation using advanced
clinical knowledge to underpin decisions.
- They will work independently, with a high degree of
autonomy, and take part in clinical supervision from a named consultant.
- They will be able to manage their own caseload in response
to unpredictable patterns of work. They will accept referrals from other health
care professionals and work unsupervised.
- To clinically assess patients, prioritising clinical need
and highlighting those patients who require immediate medical intervention.
- To act as a resource for all members of the
multi-disciplinary team, providing expert advice concerning aspects of the
management of patients with AKI.
- They will initiate, undertake and evaluate
research and audit.
