Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Clinical Sister/Charge Nurse to join our friendly, forward thinking team within Cardiology on ACU/Ward 44 at Darlington Memorial Hospital. You will need to be highly motivated, skilled and enthusiastic with a passion to drive forward high quality of care encompassing patient safety. Experience in Cardiology and management tasks required as you will be expected to co-ordinate the smooth running of the ACU and ward also delivering care to patients and supporting staff.

Main duties of the job

Main duties will be delivering high standards of patient care, communicate effectively within the team and MDT, patients and their families. Liase with patientflow to allow a seamless transfer of patients to appropriate areas. Support staff on all levels. Manage the ward in the absence of the ward manager, participate in the recruitment process. Assist with appraisals and audit and actively promote education and training. Work within the spirit of the NMC and be familiar with all CDDFT policy and procedures.
