Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5
nurse to join our friendly, forward thinking team within Cardiology on ACU/Ward
44 at Darlington Memorial Hospital. You will need to be highly motivated,
skilled and enthusiastic with a passion to drive forward high quality of care
encompassing patient safety. Experience in Cardiology would be benefical
however you will be able to develop this knowledge by training provided
inhouse.
Main duties of the job
Main duties will be delivering high standards
of patient care, communicate effectively within the team and MDT, patients and their families. Work within
the spirit of the NMC and be familiar with all CDDFT policy and procedures.
Assess patients needs and develop, implement and evaluate
programmes of care.
-To organise the delivery of nursing care.
-To be proactive in managing risk and maintaining patient
safety.
-To be aware of and communicate to team members, changes to
patient information and treatment plans, both verbally and in writing.
-To adhere to NMC standards of record keeping.
-To assist the ward sister in setting, monitoring and
maintaining standards of care.
-To participate in nursing audit and service improvement
activities e.g. ward assurance, IPC
-To be aware of resource constraints and the importance of
working within the budget.
-To provide advice and act as role model to other members of
the team.
-To supervise the work of nursing support staff, ensuring
tasks undertaken have been delegated appropriately.
-To contribute to the day-to-day management of
the Directorate, co-operating with colleagues to provide seamless patient
centered care
