Job responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Administration in clinics

1. Manage the flow of patients and patient information into clinics, to ensure the patient and appropriate health records are ready for the consultation

2. Provide a courteous and non-judgmental reception to clients

3. Carry out stock control of items liable to expiry dates, to ensure optimum safety

4. Assist clinical staff in procedures including chaperoning

General Administration

1. Report any untoward incidents/complaints to the nurse in charge without delay, to support a safe environment for visitors and staff in accordance with trust health and safety policy, reporting contemporaneously any untoward incidents

2. Maintains organised and accurate clinic filing systems so patients records are easily and correctly retrieved, identifying & assisting in preparing files for archiving as required

3. Arranges appointments for clients face to face, over the telephone and online

4. Maintains filing of information and patients notes

5. As directed by Sexual Health Nurse, ensures stationery, stock items and equipment are kept stocked up, reorder as appropriate

6. Arranges cover for Doctors and Nurses as instructed and follow procedures for correct completion of timesheets, leave requests, absence reporting, reporting incidents.

7. Accurately collects (manual or electronically) statistical information as directed by nurse/management

8. Assists in opening, operating and locking up of premises in conjunction with other professional staff ensuring health and safety and fire policies are followed.

9. Assists in preparation of advance clinic rota for central administration

10. Ensures correspondence to clinic staff is seen by all and filed in designated files
