Job summary
Provides professional leadership and operational management to the Clinical Photography department. Provides a professional, cost effective and efficient, clinical photography and ophthalmic imaging service to the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Manages and is responsible for the delivery of Clinical Photography services for the Trust - autonomous role.
Line manager for Clinical Photography departmental staff training, career development, recruitment, appraisal, CPD, and discipline.
Responsible for clinical photography policy and procedure development. Advises on issues relating to photographic clinical images including image confidentiality, image management, consent and copyright, and data protection legislation.
Responsible for following up Trust wide Clinical Photography related incident reports, audits, and complaints, and implementing any resulting actions.
Maintains accurate confidential departmental records. Includes upkeep of departmental/internal clinical photographic image database Medical Image Manager (MIM); along with records required as per data protection legislation (e.g. Information Asset Administrator duties).
Responsible for following up Clinical Photography related incident reports and complaints
Fully qualified and experienced clinical photographer. Undertakes clinical photography/ophthalmic imaging following appropriate national and internal protocols and standardisation.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
