Job summary

A job opportunity has become as a Healthcare assistant on ward 9. Initially to support staff on multispecialty ward. original speciality - gynaecology / early pregnancy / female surgery and medicine overflow. Since covid, primarily medicine and emergency / sensitive gynaecology, however, with other specialities - general surgery, orthopedics, dermatology, etc.

We also have an emergency gynaecology clinic and early pregnancy unit which is linked to ward 9, and with time, support and experience the HCA will help support at times in this facility.

Main duties of the job

*Essential patient care

*Tend to hygiene needs

*Patient observations

*Work with staff nurse on a team to provide patient care

*Access and utilise Telephone & IT systems

*Charerone

*Handle food and assist patients with feeding

*Support nurses in link roles

*Support and communicate with patients

*Support ward clerk duties in absence of ward clerk

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
