An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic staff nurse to
join our well established team of
nurses in our busy dermatology departments at University
Hospital North Durham, you will be
expected to work between all sites that we run Dermatology
and Plastic clinics and biopsy lists.
Previous knowledge and experience of working with dermatology
or plastic teams would be
beneficial but not essential.
The successful candidate will need to be flexible, have good
communication skills and a
flexible approach to working between sites. Your
responsibilities will include, running your own nurse led clinics ie patch
test, Demojets, hair disorder and Phototherapy. You
will be required in facilitating the
smooth running of the clinics within the appointed time and
phlebotomy. Monitoring stocks and supplies and carrying out
dermatological treatments. You
will also be expected to work within a theatre setting,
scrubbing and assisting both dermatologists
and plastic surgeons
It is essential you have good interpersonal and
communication skills and can work using your
own initiative, and you have the ability to supervise junior
members of the team on a day to day
basis.
Main duties of the job
