Job summary

CDDFT Podiatry Department are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Podiatrist to join our diverse team, which covers 6 localities. The candidate should have at least 2 years post graduate experience and evidence of working in Podiatry high risk/tissue viability. The successful candidate will also be required to carry out high risk/tissue viability domicillary visits and clinics. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to complete work based competencies specific to the job and will be assigned a dedicated mentor. The position will be based at Sedgefield Community Hospital. Main duties of the job

ake a clinical specialist role within the team - Diabetes/Tissue Viability

Provide leadership within the Team and act as a senior clinician, leading by example.

Provides specialist podiatry advice both within and externally to the Trust

Assesses and treats patients within the team caseload of patients with specialised care needs which includes adults and paediatrics, self-referrals from patients and referrals from other practitioners and disciplines

Participate in the training of other staff and students

Participate in service transformation activity with a view to continuous service improvement and value for money

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
