Job summary
The
role is based in a busy plastic surgery service, where inpatient clinical
workstreams are centralized on the UHND site. The post holder will be
supporting / delivering clinical care to the populations serviced by CDDFT
plastic surgery. The post holder will also act as a front of house for queries
from regional health services such as regional UTCs and other acute providers
that do not have an inhouse plastic surgery service.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the provision of medical care in acute plastic
surgery, predominantly within inpatient areas supporting the on-call team in
managing unplanned demand under the direction of the on call senior medical
team; acting as a key support to the medical workforce. The candidate will also be expected to cover
elective and emergency inpatient and daycase surgery, general, and regular ward
work.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
