From April 9th 2025 - Healthcare assistants - You must have a minimum of two years of experience working within the NHS as a HCA for the Trust to consider sponsorship (we will only consider sponsorship if you meet this criteria and have a current visa expiring within 3 months)

You must be able to evidence GCSE MATHS & ENGLISH or equivalent on the day (original certificates) and we will not accept other qualifications e.g enginering degrees. the Subject of the qualification MUST be Maths and English. We will not offer an inteview if the candiate fails to provide these on the day.

Please note there will be a Recruitment Day Tuesday 13th May 2025 at Darlington Memorial Hospital, and you will need to be available to complete recruitment checks if appointed. The Recruitment day will include information on the role of a HCA, information on the Trust, Panel Interview and Recruitment checks. We will not be able to offer another interview day.

If you are new to care you must complete the Care certificate with us in your first 6 months and you will be paid band 2 until complete.

Main duties of the job

County Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust are seeking motivated, dynamic Healthcare Assistants to join our team, who will complement our current experienced and specialist workforce, who are passionate about providing optimal care for our patients. If you are an experienced Healthcare Assistant you can also apply.

Please ensure you have full ID documents available to bring with you. Full ID information can be found on the document in supporting information and you must prepare for the day by sourcing references to cover the last 3 years (email address of employers). You must also provide GCSE certificates in English language and Maths or equivalent to match the person spec and will need to provide these on the day. If you are unable to provide these on the day you will not be interviewed.

We have varying posts at sites across the trust. Please note if you are on visa that is not expiring in 3 months we will not be able to offer sponsorship for this role. Students with limitations on their visa are to be aware the posts offered are a minimum of 24 hours a week

This role is 24/7 rota so we will not be able to offer specific plans (nights or days only). please Confirm in your application you can work 24/7 rota

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
