Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an experienced and motivated individual in the post of ICT Operations Service Manager for a period of 6 months on a secondment basis.

The successful candidate will manage and develop the provision of ICT support services and an effective ICT estate used by over 8500 staff across 78 sites in a busy 24 hour acute emergency care environment.

You will be part of a large and experienced Health Informatics Department which has a record of implementing new and exciting technologies to support the delivery of business and clinical services.

You will be highly experienced in managing the delivery of ICT Support to a large and diverse user base, both user facing and back end infrastructure.

Reporting to the Head of ICT, and working closely with the Infrastructure Services Manager, you will have management responsibility for the development and provision of ICT Services across the Trust.

This post has a requirement to perform on call as part of a rota.

Main duties of the job

Lead on the development and maintenance of ICT support and procurement services across the Trust.

Support the development of the Trusts strategic approach to the implementation of ICT services.

Manage the provision of ICT support services across the Trust.

Act as an escalation point for complex problems from within the ICT Team.

Management of computer room, datacentre facilities.

Ensure effective customer service to ICT users across the trust.

Issue advice and guidance on complex ICT issues to service users and IT staff.

Deputise for the Head of ICT.

  • Knowledge and understanding of networking hardware and software tools, including datacenter technologies.
