County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust

The closing date is 30 January 2025

Job summary

We have opportunities for teacher practitioner roles at both UHND and DMH. These exciting roles provide the opportunity for the successful candidates to continue to lead and develop their area of specialist clinical interest whilst sharing that expertise and knowledge with tomorrows pharmacists. Through our partnerships with local Schools of Pharmacy we are looking for individuals to provide university based and placement based teaching to undergraduates throughout all 4 years of the undergraduate degree. If you are working at a senior rotational or advanced pharmacist level and enjoy sharing your clinical knowledge and witnessing the growth in competence of your trainees then this is your opportunity to develop the clinical practice of undergraduate pharmacy students and to promote hospital pharmacy as a rewarding career option.

The post is split with 3-4 days being spent in a clinical role and 1-2 days in a tecahing role depending on your preference.

Main duties of the job

This role is split between the Trust and one of the local schools of pharmacy. The post holder will have a keen interest in learning and development and will work with the school of pharmacy to provide placements and teaching to a specified tutor group.

Now is an opportune moment to increase involvement with placements and be involved with standard setting for the new undergraduate degree. Through demonstrating your personal practice you will enthuse undergraduates with the possibilities of clinical pharmacy and in particular the role of the hospital based pharmacy service. You will liaise with other team members to ensure that high quality provision is provided in all areas. You will liaise with other members of the pharmacy education team to roll out entrustable activities and assessments and evaluate their suitability.
