Main duties of the job
This key role supports our early careers pharmacists from
day 1 of qualifying through to advanced practice and is proven to improve staff
morale and retention.
We are looking for a nurturing and caring indivdual who is
passionate about training and development.
You will have excellent organisational and leadership skills, a sound
understanding of the educational needs of the early careers pharmacist
workforce and ideas as to how we can further develop our offering.
Working at senior rotational or advanced pharmacist level you
will be established in your hospital pharmacist role and will be confident
about mentoring and sharing your knowledge with more junior colleagues. You will be looking to take the next step in
your career or widen the scope of your role.
This role is based at UHND where you will be
supported by the lead Pharmacist for education and training and will work
closely with your counterpart at DMH

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

- Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent Completed a suitable postgraduate qualification (eg Clinical diploma) or demonstrated sufficient experience to meet RPS post-registration foundation competence standards
- Evidence of CPD and education
- Independent Prescriber or willing to work towards
Desirable
- Post graduate Masters qualification in a relevant pharmacy subject. Post graduate management qualification. Working towards a development portfolio, i.e. credentialing at advanced practice defined by the RPS. Teaching experience in clinical and classroom settings
