Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse (AFC Band 5) to join the General Outpatient Department at the North of the Trust this includes UHND, CLS, SBH and SCH. This role will include working in all clinics in the department.

To work as part of the immediate team, wider team and the ability to independently travel across all sites. To manage and facilitate the smooth running of clinics, demonstrating clinical competence in all areas of the outpatients setting and specialities.

Main duties of the job

To treat patients according to their individual needs in a non-judgemental manner, ensuring that all patients needs are met. To act as a chaperone and Patient advocate as and when necessary following the Trust Protocols.

To have the ability to work without direct supervision. To be an effective team leader with the ability and confidence to supervise junior members of staff. To act as a role model to both Staff, Students and Service Users alike whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times.

To be proactive, dynamic, enthusiastic and take charge of the department, in the absence of the department manager and confident with own decision making. To be supportive to colleagues and possess excellent communication skills.

To undertake any training and development opportunities to become competent to cover all aspects of the outpatients clinics, specialised clinics and clinical procedures.

To ensure you adhere to Trust and Department values of kindness and respect.
