Job summary
CDDFT Community Respiratory Nursing Service is pleased to advertise a rare, exciting, opportunity, for a permanent, part time, Community Respiratory Care and Support Worker predominently working within the Durham Dales, Sedgefield and Darlington localities, based at innovation House in Bishop Auckland.
The successful postholder will deliver and support respiratory care and education to respiratory patients including diagnostic spirometry performance, in out-patient clinics and their own homes, supporting the specialist respiratory nursing service.
The successful candidate will utilise their organisation and communication skills to achieve best patient outcomes whilst being well supported by expert respiratory sepcialists to develop a range of competencies in delivering excellent respiratory care and support for this group of complex patients.
The hours for this post are offered between Monday-Friday between 8:30 and 5pm, across either 2 or 3 days per week, flexibility can be negotiated in regards to days and hours worked.

Main duties of the job
DIMENSIONS OF THE JOB
To work under the direction of the registered community respiratory specialist nursing team.
To assist in the delivery of respiratory care.
Provide specialist education to patients in regards to healthy lifestyle, inhaler technique and self-management plans.
Care delivery in a community clinic or patients home environment.
Maintain accurate records.
Take responsibility for medical devices and service equipment registers.
Participate in service improvement and developmental initiatives.
To work within the multi-disciplinary team including therapy, social, housing, well-being services, administrative and support staff.
No requirement to manage/monitor budget

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
