Ward 43 is a 30 bedded Acute respiratory ward with an 8 bedded unit also ,which is
recruiting 1 band 6 Clinical Sister to lead and manage their team under the
direct supervision of the ward manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a
suitably experienced registered nurse who is highly motivated and enthusiastic,
with a keen interest in caring for patients with Acute Stroke needs.
The respiratory unit is friendly and supportive and has a
commitment to providing a high quality of nursing care.
The post holder will lead the Nursing team in
providing care to patients acting under the supervision of the Ward Manager.
The post holder should work effectively within a team environment, have good
communication skills, initiative, demonstrate enthusiasm about the role and
share our passion and vision for providing high quality patient care.
Main duties of the job
The sucessful candidate will
provide leadership,clinical expertise and organisation of the respiratory ward.
They will continously develop and
enhance knowledge and skills that will directly influence consistent standards
of clinical practice and ensure the highest possible standards of evidence
based care are achieved in order to promote patient focused care
Communicate effectively with all
the multi-disciplinary teams both internal and external to the organistaion
Provide clinical leadership to a group of staff
within the ward and throughout the care group.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
