Job summary
Due to staff movement within the Acute Tissue Viability
Service we have an exciting and rare opportunity for a Band 6 Tissue Viability
Specialist Nurse to join us on a full time basis.The successful candidate will
work as part of the existing Acute Tissue viability team as a Clinical Specialist
Nurse providing highly developed wound care advice and assessment, delivering
education, developing practice, and undertaking audit and research, primarily
supporting Patient Safety and Pressure Ulcer prevention.
An understanding of
the pressure ulcer prevention agenda and National Wound Care Strategy together
with a passion for wound care and experience in developing and delivering
educational packages would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be
supported to develop their Tissue Viability skill and knowledge in a friendly
and nurturing environment. Experience as a Tissue Viability Nurse, Link Nurse
or WREN and recognised qualification in woundcare would be beneficial
The post holder will be required to cover the service across
CDDFT region.

Main duties of the job
The Tissue Viability service is a nurse led expert advisory
service, providing specialist evidenced based advice and education on complex
and non-healing wounds. We provide
advice to patients, families, carers and healthcare professionals.
To provide and support the Tissue Viability Specialist in
the provision of Tissue Viability Service. As a member of the Tissue Viability
Team assist in the development of a quality, proactive, evidence based tissue
viability service.
Within the focus of Tissue viability the post holder will:
Participate in the development of nursing practice within
Tissue viability and contribute to the body of nursing knowledge
Take a lead role facilitating the planning and evaluation of
care for a designated group of patients
Provide specialist education and training incorporting best
practice, national and local reccomendations in relation to wound care
Support CDDFT in validating Pressure Ulcer prevelance
Deliver expertise in triage, wound assessment
and planning of care to ensure patients with more complex wounds are reviewed
in a timely manner
