Job summary

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust has five urgent care centres across the Trust.

We are looking to recruit forward thinking enthusiastic General Practitioners to join our team of salaried GPs working in our out of hours Urgent Treatment Centres.

We have vacancies/various shifts available in Bishop Auckland and Durham centres

Our urgent care centres provide a home visiting service, telephone advice and face to face consultations for patients requiring urgent and emergency care.

Main duties of the job

Working on SystmOne in our out of hours service you will receive referrals from 111, paramedics and walk in patients.

You will be expected to prioritise and co-ordinate your work load in collaboration with the Shift Coordinator, which includes telephone and face to face consultations, laboratory results, home visits and walk in patients who attend our service with minor injuries and illnesses.

You will be working alongside advanced practitioners and healthcare assistant/ drivers.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
