Job summary
We are looking for a dynamic and highly skilled (band 7)
women's/pelvic health physiotherapist to join our friendly, supportive and
successful women's/pelvic health team. This exciting role is to cover the PPHS
Perinatal Pelvic Health Service for CDDFT which is a new service set up
following priorities in the NHS England long term plan. This service is for all
women and birthing people ante-natally and for 12 months post birth. It has an aim
to reduce, mitigate and treat pelvic health issues resulting from pregnancy and
birth.
Patients will complete a self-assessment questionnaire
digitally in pregnancy and post birth which will assist in triaging patients to
advice, preventative groups or individual treatment. The post holder will work
closely with the midwifery services and the MDT to embed evidence based pelvic
health teaching and advice.
As part of the established women's/pelvic health
physiotherapy team you will provide expert clinical interventions for these
patients while acting as a source of expertise within the Physiotherapy team
and beyond.
The iMSK service provides a robust training and supervision
framework for all staff.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of a team providing a comprehensive
service within our womens/pelvic health physiotherapy team. You will have the
responsibility for the physiotherapy assessment and management of pelvic health
conditions of pregnancy and the post birth period. The caseload will include
patients with comorbidities, complex issues and psychological trauma which will
require a holistic and sensitive approach. They will be referred by self,
midwife and primary care.
The caseload will also include preventative interventions
such as virtual education groups and educational resources. You will work
closely with the midwifery and MDT. You will be expected to contribute to
service evaluation, audit and provide day to day clinical leadership to our
senior and junior physiotherapists.
You will be expected to provide training, education,
mentorship and appraisal for staff and students. As part of the role you will
contribute to the development of professional practice and the transformation
and evaluation of service, supporting research and innovation across the
service.
You will work closely and be supported by your
peers, FCP / ESP Practitioners, Governance and Operational leads.

Full membership of POGP by course or portfolio is
encouraged.

staff. This includes Upper limb, lower limb, trauma, hands, spinal,
rheumatology and womens/pelvic health ESPs. You will also be supported by
governance and operational leads.

designated caseload and organise effectively with regards to clinical
priorities and use of time.
You will clinically support junior staff and students,
delegating activities appropriately and monitoring the quality of care given
via clinical supervision, mentorship and audit. Together with providing
shadowing opportunities for students and staff on induction or rotation. Full
training can be provided via local universities for student supervision /
coaching and CDDFT provide preceptorship training if this is required, together
with support on site for local processes.
CDIMS has a robust intranet physiotherapy site which is
constantly developing which provides guidance on all local MSK and
womens/pelvic health pathways, protocols and evidence based leaflets for your
use as a resource. The LMNS PPHS project has worked to provide digital
resources and web page appropriate for the PPHS service.
You will have a named ESP supervisor who will support your
personal development plan and the appraisal framework. CDDFT support protected
supervision time which is led by the supervisee for your individual needs.
Pastoral support is also provided within this structure or alternative
arrangement can be made to suit personal circumstances.
Shadowing and training is available throughout the full
service with consultants, midwives, obstetrics and gynaecology and ESPs in all
specialities. This is arranged within your personal development plan. The
department runs In-service training sessions together with access to learning
on e -learning for health. CDIMS use SystmOne for clinical note keeping -
training can be provided to suit your individual needs. Test patients can guide
you if you are unfamiliar with this System within your induction program. CDDFT
provide a full induction program which includes mandatory training together
with a local physiotherapy induction tailored to your needs. Training will also
be provided with all CDDFT ICT programs as required. You will have access to
